Seelie Races
bean si (banshee), could be seelie or unseelie - female spirit known for attaching herself to a particular family and appearing whenever someone in that family is about to die. in most accounts, she appears on the night of death wailing in mourning.

blue cap - a fairy which live in mines and appears as small blue flames. if the miners treat them well, these fairies well lead them to mineral deposits.

bogles, could be seelie or unseelie - in most cases, bogles are viewed as malicious and dangerous creatures. however, in some areas they have a more benevolent nature and only attack murderers, oath breakers, and those who stole from widows. considered a goblin.

brownie - prefer to live in people's homes, but certain races can be found in ponds. they adopt to a specific home and in the quiet night hours clean and organize the home for the human owners. they appreciate food for their good work. new clothes will either drive them off or offend them, turning them into an unseelie boggart.

corrigans (pixies) - small mischievous creatures. social fae that live in groups and love dancing. while they can be cruel to people who interrupt their dances and parties, they can also be very helpful around the home. they are known to steal children, punish those who spy on them, and reward those who please them. they enjoy playing tricks on people and animals, commonly leading travelers astray. they are generally harmless unless angered, making them as deadly as any other fae

glaistig, could be seelie or unseelie - dangerous to men, but protect children and the elderly. seduces men, then drinks their blood. they have shape shifting abilities and like brownies, is known to attach to a specific home and work as a maid around the house. said to have been human and turned fae by the aos si.

gwragedd annwn - beautiful women of lakes and streams, considered very kind and friendly. commonly marry mortal men, but will leave them if they violate a taboo against their nature; i.e. spying on them while they bathe, treating them unkindly.

hobgoblins - the more benevolent version of a goblin. though somewhat dangerous, tend to be helpful to humans. they are a collector of expensive things, protective of the things they own. prefer their privacy and for people to stay out of their business.

leannan si (fairy lover, female) or gean-canach (love talker, male), could be seelie or unseelie - fae who seduces mortals and if successful feeds off their life energy while inspiring their creativity. the only escape would be to find another mortal to replace oneself in the fae's affections. their presence usually means a short but productive and creative life. the male usually only sleeps with his lover once, leaving her to waste away in affection for him, while the female tends to return to her victim.

leprechaun - a fairy who makes shoes for the fairy court and hides pots of gold which it receives as payment.

loireag - a water fairy that loves the arts of music and weaving and gets furious with anyone who makes mistakes at these.

lutins - similar to kelpies, only their shape shifting form tends to be similar to a dwarf. they enjoy playing tricks on humans but are generally friendly, causing war with the corrigans, whose pranks are more often on the malicious side

merrows - a type of mermaid and are generally beautiful and alluring. commonly mate and marry mortals producing children with them. they are usually kind to people and enjoy helping humans.

pied piper - the pied piper is likely some form of fairy teaching a morality lesson, what's more he leads the children into fairyland.

plant annwn, could be seelie or unseelie - beautiful lake fairies which have been compared to nymphs

puca - horse like shapeshifting fae. they are commonly said to entice humans to take a ride on their back, giving the rider a wild and terrifying journey before dropping the unlucky person back at the place they were taken from, but unlike kelpie do no harm to the rider. another example of the pãºca as a benevolent or protective entity comes in tales where the creature intervenes before a terrible accident or before the person is about to happen upon a malevolent fairy or spirit.

selkies, could be seelie or unseelie - fairies which appear human but can turn into seals by putting on a magical skin.

urisk - ugly but kind fairies which live near pools, they would at times seek out company but their appearance terrified everyone who saw them.
